YORK® Navy Systems is a specialized division within Johnson Controls, Inc., serving the Global Navy HVAC/R market. YORK® Navy-engineered HVAC/R equipment is built to, and supported by, the most stringent military requirements as well as international quality control and classification standards.

Navy HVAC/R Equipment

Over 90% of vessels in the U.S. Navy fleet, surface ships as well as submarines, utilize YORK® air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Additionally, YORK has equipment in service with over 19 of the world’s navies and has supplied air conditioning and refrigeration plants to over 1300 fighting ships including a majority of the NATO fleet.

Research and Development

Environmentally friendly YORK® non-CFC technology is implemented in a comprehensive package of refrigerant-management services and products, including:

• Refrigerant conservation strategies

• Conversion of existing CFC equipment to non-CFC alternative "green" refrigerants

• Engineered chiller retrofits to achieve both CFC-free status and better operating performance

• Non-CFC air conditioning and refrigeration systems for ship refurbishment and renovation

YORK® equipment uses all the major, viable alternative "green" refrigerants for both new and retrofit applications.

Dependability

YORK® naval equipment is designed and tested to meet the stringent requirements for survivability, efficiency and low noise signature demanded by modern warship technology. Furthermore, integrated logistic support (ILS) principles are applied to YORK® Navy products such that equipment reliability, supportability and maintainability are assured.
